Appointments
Please do not ask for a home visit unless you really cannot get to the surgery and you need more than telephone advice
We offer a variety of appointment options:
Routine
- Bookable in advance
- You can ask for your doctor of choice
- You can choose the best time available to suit your routine
- The best type of appointment for an ongoing condition
- Because all our doctors are part-time you have to book well ahead
Book on the Day
- Available the day you ring in
- The best type of appointment for an urgent problem
- You WILL be seen if you have a genuine emergency
- You may not get to see your doctor of choice
- Appointments are limited except for genuine emergencies
- Appointments are only released at 8am to give everyone a chance
- You need to ring as early as possible to be sure of an appointment.
Telephone Advice
- You don't need to come to the surgery
- You can speak to a doctor, nurse practitioner or pharmacist the day you ring
- It saves the doctor time for more serious problems
- The best type of appointment if you just need advice
- If you have a mobile the doctor can reach you wherever you are
- If you don't have a mobile you need to wait in for your call back
Home Visits
- You don't need to come to the surgery
- The doctors are happy to visit patients who are seriously ill or frail
- It takes up more of the doctors time
- The doctor may ring you to see whether a visit is really necessary
- Please try to ring as early as possible so the doctors can plan their visits
